The natural pool at the base of Steelhead Falls is a summer favorite.

The deep swimming holes just past Steelhead Falls — the area's go-to summer swim spot. Cold mountain water (high 50s even in August) but worth the shock. Easy 0.5-mile walk in from the trailhead.

Good to know

  • Best mid-July to mid-September when water is warmest.
  • Cliff jumping happens here — check depths carefully if you participate.
  • Bring water shoes; the bank is rocky.
