🌋 Drive to Crater Lake National Park

Deep blue water in a volcanic caldera.

America's deepest lake (1,943 ft) — a sapphire-blue volcanic caldera that has to be seen to be understood. The 33-mile Rim Drive opens late June and offers viewpoints every few miles. Sinnott Memorial overlook is the classic stop.

Good to know

  • Rim Drive only open late June through mid-October.
  • Park entrance fee: $30/vehicle (or use America the Beautiful pass).
  • Allow a full day from CRR — long drive each way is part of it.

Google's editorial: 183,224-acre park containing America's deepest lake, striking geologic features & a historic lodge.
