🌵 Drive to Christmas Valley

An eccentric and beautiful detour into Oregon's Outback. The Christmas Valley area has lava tubes (Derrick Cave), an actual sand dune system, the Crack-in-the-Ground volcanic fissure, and salt flats. Very few people, very weird landscapes.

Good to know

• Gas up before leaving Bend or LaPine.
• High-clearance vehicle recommended for some sites.
• Bring water and food; very few services.
